"Life is like a box of chocolates.." Remember this quote from the movie Forrest Gump.. An unforgettable quote indeed. Does anyone remember what Forrest promised Bubba when they came back from the war. Forrest promised Bubba they would catch shrimps together and open a restaurant named Bubba Gump. I had a chance to dine in Bubba Gump Restaurant in Sunway! Experience was fun!

The atmosphere there was very cozy indeed. The tables were divided into two sections, smoking and non-smoking. Price was reasonable for a once in awhile dining for a unemployed person like me. LoL.. Food and beverages are simply superb!

At the restaurant they have a system on how patrons should order or request for assistance. Thank goodness the friendly waiter told me about it since I was a newbie there.

To order or request for assistance, we flip the plat to Stop Forrest Stop.

If everything is fine, flip back the plat to Run Forrest Run.

Cool system aye. In my opinion it's better rather than you have to lift and sway your hands in the air or the typical Malaysian smooching sound to get the waiter's attention. Unfortunately it's not good for the itchy hands of kids or adults who still feel like a kid. My friend kept playing with the plats. The waiter kept coming to our table thinking we had something to ask. I felt so sorry to the waiter for my friend's itchy hands. Sorry bro! ;D

Strawberry Lemonade & Blueberry Lemonade.

Superb! The sourness of the lemonade and the sweetness of the strawberry/blueberry was a perfect blend.

Onion Rings.

Also superb! It was a huge tower of crispy rings served with 2 types of sauces as appetizer.

Trash in the Bucket.

Funny nickname for this dish but taste simply ridiculously delicious. It's a bucket filled with deep fried shrimp, fish fillets and lobster tail served with a lemon slice, cajun sauce and butter sauce.


The bar to enjoy a pint of beer or cocktails while watching the World Cup re-runs or Forrest Gump movie. Fun..

Do drop by Bubba Gump for a friendly, fun and delicious experience. with family or friends I will definitely go again to enjoy a bucket of shrimp.. ^_^

~+Korea Town+~

This post is kinda late but I'll just post it. ^_^ This happened during my trip to KL on the day South Korea vs Uruguay for World Cup 2010. My trip up to KL was to attend a wedding and I happened to stay overnight. Since that night was the game of South Korea vs Uruguay, where else would be the best place to watch the match but at Korea Town itself in Ampang. I call it Korea Town coz most KL people would know that Ampang is populated by Koreans. The experience was awesome!

Koreans and locals all gathered at a parking lot to watch the game together. Young and old Koreans equipped with inflatable blue sticks (I have no idea what it's really called), drums and cheers!

They were very friendly. There was also slices of watermelon served to everyone to quench their thirst from the excruciating hot weather. Really nice of them. Everyone was like one big family there.


When Korea scored their first goal, everyone cheered loudly accompanied with the sound of beating drums. All cheers were in hangul (Korean language) which makes my experience extra exciting. Felt like I was really in Korea. LoL...

While I was there, I was curious to see a few youngsters eating some sort of ice cream. A food lover I am, I walked into a Korea supermarket and bought one.

This is kinda minty flavored. It taste more like F&N Fizzy Pamelo.

I had so much fun on that night. I also managed to eye a few cute Korean guys. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to intro myself and snap a picture or two with them. I was too busy cheering for South Korea team. My most memorable moment.

~+Gimchi Saranghae+~

Yes Korea is making a statement in the world with their K-pop music, dramas and food. As a food lover, I'm addicted to gimchi. The spicy and sour cabbage eaten with rice, stew or wrapped up with a piece of BBQ meat in a lettuce leaf just makes my mouth water.

The first time I got hooked on gimchi was during my dining experience in an authentic Korean restaurant here in Melaka. I got so addicted to it til one day I decided to search how to make my own gimchi so that I could enjoy it anytime I want.

Self-made gimchi red pepper paste.

Finished gimchi ready to be fermented.

Gimchi can be eaten straight away but it won't have the sour taste. By fermenting it at room temperature for at least 2days will make it sour. After 2days, gimchi can be stored in the fridge for 3months or more (depending on how frequent you eat it). My gimchi always finish within 3months. Lol.. Gimchi can be eaten as a side dish as Koreans do for every meal or it can be added to make Spicy Gimchi Stew, simply awesome and delicious.

A small tip, eating gimchi can help you loose weight because it is good for your digestive system. My friend actually lost 3kg and I lost 2kg after 1month of eating gimchi everyday. The result may differ to different people so don't take my word fully. I'm just giving a tip that I've seen with my own experience. Go ahead and try some! ^_^
