~+Food Craze+~

Gosh its been soooooo long since I last posted something here. But don't be down, I've got good food destination you can find in Melaka. I've just been too busy to post it up. Just keep in mind that all of these wasn't eaten in one day. Imagine how much weight I gain if I did eat all these in one day.

I start first with my trip to breakfast heaven. It was during one weekend morning when we (me and my housemates) were up so late from playing a game called Taboo. Instead of heading to our rooms to sleep, we went out to eat. We went to eat dim sum nearby my university in Bukit Beruang, Melaka and we ordered A LOT of food. After we ate, I stacked all the dim sum basket on top of each other so that the Tauke can sum up everything. All cost RM36+ for 4 people. Cheap right..

Next is food fit for a king (for me a queen ;p). This was actually a promotion done at Nandos, Jaya Jusco Melaka. The picture was quite tempting so I just took a chance to try it.

This is what I got. Really huge chicken kebab, rice, potato wedges and grilled vegs. I couldn't finish it so I requested for them to pack it up for me. A little late night snack for me. Heheheh...

Once in awhile we crave to eat a 5-star meal. I decided to eat at K5, an outdoor coffee house at Equatorial Hotel Melaka. K5 is actually short for Kaki Lima. Hehehe cool rite. One thing really unique about K5 is their menu. Its made like a newspaper from the 50's or 60's with made up news from the olden days and the real menu list printed somewhere in between. So if you wanna order you got to really read carefully. They serve local food such as fried rice, nasi lemak, kueh teow/mee goreng, teochew porridge and western food such as rib-eyed steak, fish and chips, pastas. Really really good food. Portions of the dishes are really worth it.


Sizzling Rib-Eyed Steak with Blackpepper Sauce. The steak was really thick and tender. The meat just melts in your mouth.

Fettucini Carbonara with tomatoes, turkey ham, asparagus and basil and garlic bread. Sauce was creamy and finger licking good. The best way to eat the garlic bread is to dip it into the carbonara sauce. Ummph delicious.

Another 5-star like restaurant is a really small Italian restaurant called the Coconut House, Jonker Walk Melaka. Its really small and nobody really notice it. When I noticed it I quickly jump to the opportunity to try it and I was really satisfied.

The windows upstairs is just a way for air ventilation (I think). The houses here in jonker walk are long front to back but not wide left to right.

Speciallity drinks Lime Smoothie and Mix Fruit Juice (mix any two fruits you desire).

(Really spicy-chilli padi, green papper, hot sauce and crushed blackpepper)

Seafood Carbonara.


Chicken with mushroom. Very rich tomato pasta sauce.
I recommend eating this dish with bread.


Beef Pramigiana
(Beef steak coated with fresh herbs and bread crumbs topped with mozzarella and tomato pasta sauce.)

For dessert.

Baked red wine pear with homemade vanilla ice cream.


Hazelnut Pudding.


Homemade chocolate pudding with homemade vanilla ice cream.





Irish Coffee. Perfect combination of liquor and coffee. Look at the layers.

From Chinese to South African to Italian food. Now we come to Japanese food. When we talk about Japanese food, we always think about sushi. Well instead of always eating sushi, I wanted to try Japanese BBQ and steamboat buffet at Sibaraku Mahkota Parade, Melaka. Each person only have to pay RM29.90++ and you can eat all you want. (Wastage will be charge according to gram)

Each person will be given this charcoal burner for those having the Japanese Charcoal Barbeque.

This is what each person will get for them to BBQ. When you're done with this, you can order more stuff by marking the amount you want on a list of seafood and meat given by the waitress.

This is what you get for ordering the Japanese Shabu-Shabu (Steamboat). You can also order for more from the list of seafood and meat.

Sometimes I just can't resist not eating some sushi.

Well that's about all of what I've enjoyed so far. Posting this really has made my mouth water. Tummy is rumbling right now so I better go make me a tuna sandwich. Hope you readers enjoyed what I've posted.

Puss In Boots????

I think cats loves me.. I'm not simply tooting my own horn but seriously I'm not joking. Back in my hometown in Kuching (dah la da name of my state is named cat in Bahasa Melayu), cat's always seem to come over to my house to give birth and end up my mom just keeps them as pets. Now I'm all the way in Malacca, the same thing happened (except the giving birth part).

There's this very huge white with gray spots male cat, always comes to my house to have a drink. It looked very well taken care of but I don't know who the owner is. So what the heck, I'll just let it have it's drink. A few days past, the cat came more frequent and it became more at home in my house. It can just waltz into my house like nobody's business and climb onto the couch and just lay there. Soon the cat unofficially became our cat. We call him Sam. He's a funny cat, especially when he sleeps. He sleeps like a human. Everytime when he sleeps, I'll take a picture of the position he is in. Below are a few. Enjoy..

P/S: Non of the positions were made by any human. It was done entirely by the cat himself.

I was taking a nap one afternoon on the living room mattress and that silly cat can just waltz up behind me and join me sleep.



Cute ain't he... I think so too. ;p

Malacca Trip Part II

Wow it's been a long time since I last posted something here.. Anyways, I thought of returning by starting off with my Malacca Trip Part II. As you have read in my Part I, my beloved friend Annabel dropped by Malacca to hang out with me. Here's the scoops on what we did on day two of her trip.

On this very bright clear sky day, I've asked her does she still remember her M'sian History? Especially the history on Malacca??? She replied "I kinda remember a lil.." with a grin on her face. So I asked her can she guess where am I taking her today.. She gave me a I have no bloody idea look but tried to guess anyways.. "The fort???" she asked.. Yup!! That's right on the dot. I plan to bring her to see the famous A'Famosa Fort that we only read and saw pictures of in our history books way back in highschool..

We were greeted with the view of the ever majestic A'Famosa Entrance guarded by two cannons on each side. As usual, when we reach somewhere new we take out our trusty camera phone and start snapping all the way. I thought we should first of all do some cam-whoring activity.






Then Annabel found out (which I kinda forgot to mention) that we had to climb a ton of stairs to get to the top of the hill to the main fortress. She was about to reject the whole idea of climbing up but I assured her it is worth it when you reach the top. So up the stair we go under the hot sunny day.

This is what I meant. Isn't it a perfect view of the sea.... Can you imagine hundred of years ago, all those buildings down below was once the sea. The sea is still there. Just look past all the buildings and you can see the blue waters.



I think this was built by the Dutch rulers way back when. (Is it now??????)



This is the very first fire truck used in Malaya.

After taking in all the beautiful views and refreshing cooling air on the fortress hill, we headed to another historical place called Stadthuys Building. It's red and was built by the Portuguese.

Here's the very red Christ Church. People still do masses here every Sunday.



Here's the fountain in front of the church. There's actually a history behind this fountain too but I can't remember what was it. I'm really bad at memorizing history. ;p

The red clock tower to tell everybody in Malaya/Malaysia the time. I heard a story from a Malaccan friend, he said that long ago the Portuguese built this clock tower for the Malayan villagers. When the clock bell rings at night (I can't remember at what time), everyone must go home and shut their doors. No one was allowed out after curfew. I found it a good way to reduce crimes in Malaya. What for stay out so late. It's not like there's any clubs in those days. ;p By the way, the clock tower still works til today. You can definitely still hear the clock bell from 5 km away..

Tired and exhausted, Annabel had tones of fun and she got to take pictures at all the historical monuments that we saw in our history books. In short, she had a blast in Malacca with the food especially and I do really hope she would like to drop by again. There's more to show you here. Love you loads Annabel!!! :x
