~+My October Holiday Memories: Part II+~

Hello one and all to Part II of My October Holiday Memories. Well this part here is where i tell you about how i spent my day with my beloved Anna. This happened unplanned at all. At first as usual i will wake up at 6.00am to get my little sister ready for school. Then went back home. At around 8.00 ish am, i got a message from Anna. This is what it read, "Drea you wanna go breakfast onot? I got no class today. I kena tipu. My training centre is still on holiday." My response to her is, "Hahaha... Kesian you wake up so early for nothing.. K k lets go have breakfast.. I go mandi first.." So off i went to get ready and around 9.00 ish i think, i went to pick Anna up from home. In the car as usual this question pops up "So where do you wanna eat?" I told Anna why don't we go have dim sum.. She intro to me this place in chinatown where the 'ta pau' is really nice. So off we went. But unfortunately the shop was closed. Damn.. Where to next? Since we were near padungan, Anna suggested we go to Causeway Bay Hong Kong Restaurant to eat.

As u can see below, i've ordered set A. Looks nice le.... Seriously it was not bad at all..

Iced tea, two types of dim sum and chicken pau (which they clearly written as char siow pau in the menu).. Don't it look just mouth watering... *drool*

Anna on the other hand saw set G. She ask me how does spinach noodle taste like. I said i dunno. It taste like vege i guess.. Hahaha... Ya i know.. Duh.... What the heck, Anna went and gave it a try. This is how her set looked like.

While we were enjoying our breakfast, we started chatting and as we chat, we watched a chinese artist video clip. Song was not bad but suddenly the clip got scratches. Hahaha kantoi buy cetak rompak vcd. Then i was looking around the restaurant and i saw that there were two working ladies sitting two tables away from us. One is chinese and one is malay. Then i saw what they were eating. To my surprise, the malay lady was eating the same pau as i am eating. It clearly printed in the menu that it is char siow pau.. Why is she eating char siow pau????? I told Anna and she also was shocked. Then Anna said no la. Cannot be la... This restaurant is halal.. I didn't take her pic but u can see it on Anna's blog.. hahahha... Suddenly Anna started complaining bout her tea. She said that it tasted like normal tea. She ask me to take a sip and yes it did taste like ordinary tea. So she called for the waiter and requested that her tea be changed. The waiter took the tea and gave it to the person who made the drinks. The drink maker said to the waiter that he cannot change the drink. So the waiter gave back the tea to Anna and told her that she cannot change the drink.. So Anna hot lor.. She so tidak puas hati til she didn't want to finish her tea. Because she so hot at the drink maker, we decided to go. We asked for the bill and in the bill printed she ordered ying yong tea but she didn't really get her ying yong tea.. Below is a pic of the receipt.



As we were heading to my car, Anna told me she wanted to try to make pau. I said i wanted to learn too so we headed to a baking goods shop right next to Hock Lee. After buying the ingredients needed, we headed to Anna's house to do some baking...

This is me eating the final product o our hard work. >_< Red bean pau. Yum yum... After this hard and tiring experience, we are never taking handmade pau makers for granted ever again.

~+My October Holiday Memories: PART I+~

I went back to my lovely hometown KUCHING for my October holiday. Wah feels great to be back home. But as usual my timing is a bad one. I'm having holiday but the rest of my family and friends are having classes and finals. While waiting for replies from Anna, Angel and Yomi to see if they were free to hang out, I unofficially became the family driver. Everyday I had to wakeup at 6am just to send my little sis to school. Then continue to sleep and around 10am or noon i have to wakeup once again to send my elder sis to school. So practically my day goes something like this: wakeup->send lil sis to school->continue sleep->wakeup again->bath->send elder sis to school->cook lunch->my chill time->pick lil sis from tuition->cook dinner->have dinner->
bath->read book with lil sis->sleep... And it repeats the next day... Sound like mother life hor... Hahaha.. But it was ok for me though. It really kept me busy during my holidays since not everyday i can hang out with Anna, Angel and Yomi right. But there were times I would go to Swinburne to hang with Angel and Yomi. By the way here are some pics I managed to take using my trusty camera phone.. heheheh..

Somewhere during the weekend in my first week of holiday, me, my little sis, Angel, Yomi and Vivian(who later came to join us) went to Causeway Bay Hong Kong Restaurant in Crowne Square to have dinner. This is what we ate.

Alverlyn had Mushroom Mee.

I had Nestum Fish Fillet.

Yomi had I dunno what but covered with cheese.

Angel had Curry Chicken Mee (i think).

~+Gimme More???+~

Hello all.. Sorry for being MIA for awhile.. I just got inspired to blog about something after watching the MTV Music Awards. For those of you who've watched it, do you remember who did the opening act??? For those who didn't watch let me tell you who.. It was Britney Spears.. Pop star mom is back with her new single entitled "Gimme More".

I was actually kinda unsatisfied with Brit's performance during the award. The new single was catchy no doubt but I'd prefer her to not perform that night. She was really not prepared to perform such a song on stage. She really needed to head to the gym and dance studio and really choreograph her moves better. I seriously salute her for her strong performance before she became a mom. Her moves was always tight and strong. On the night of the awards she looked like she didn't want to perform at all.. Her moves were whacked out man. She wasn't into it at all.. She can't give any excuse.. Just look at Nelly Furtado.. She's also a mom but a "hot" mom and she still performs with full energy on stage.

Another thing i realized about Brit now is that she is starting to make songs which sounds very stripty to me. I mean by the title of her new single "Gimme More"? More what? And the way she sing?? Isn't she getting enough in bed?? Gosh.. Really no offense but come on, where's the girl who made hits after hits with her songs... Music is still catchy as always but please bring back the Britney the world grew to love..

~+Sweet Tooth+~

Once in awhile it's ok to pamper yourself with sweet treats. You won't get fat with just one bite ok... Alfi stopped by Petronas to fill petrol. He stopped at th pump, got out and head to the counter. I was in the car waiting. My eyes scanning my surroundings and got hooked to the Walls freezer. The picture of the girl holding a Walls ice cream on the freezer looked so tempting.. i couldn't help myself so i got out of the car and headed straight for the freezer.. Took two ice cream, one for me and one for Alfi (must not forget him or else he very noisy) and went to the counter to pay. At the counter i saw candy canes. I always wanted to try one coz i always see on tv those american kids love it so much. I asked how much is one cane, the cashier said one costs RM0.60. I bought one first as I was afraid what if it's the "ciplak" one... Only taste of colorings..

Bought the blackforest flavour. It's the only flavour I haven't tried yet. And truly it feels like love in every bite.. Yum yum... Finish with my ice cream, cleanse mouth with a glass of plain water then i opened my candy cane... It's peppermint!!! It's delicious!!! No taste of colorings!!! Sooooo nice... Will go to buy again if there still is any.... Satisfaction!!!!

Me and a bunch of friends went out to eat... Got ready, drove out and we all as usual started asking each other, "Where to eat ar?".. Hahaha typical la... Tummy hungry but don't know where to eat... Everybody had no idea on where to eat so we took a drive around Malacca town to find for food..

While driving we spotted a new restaurant.. Interior looked nice and inviting.. The name of the restaurant is called Simply Fish.. So ok, we decided to eat there.. Got to the door of the restaurant nobody came to greet us.. 1st flaw.. It's a restaurant for goodness sake.. at least secret recipe got ok... Never mind bout that, we went to find our table.. Sat down and it took the waiter/waitress 15minutes to come and entertain us.. Flaw number 2.. We still staying cool we ordered our food. Menu looked good.. The pictures inside the menu looked delicious (don't they all). Price also not bad.. Can say kinda expensive.. After ordering I said "I hope the food comes out like how it looked in the picture. If not then really what a waste of money.."

While waiting for our orders to come, I realized two couples sitting next to our table.. Both women were pregnant. When their food came, i was shock (shock not only to see the food presentation was nice and portion was ok) to see that the wives were the only ones eating.. The husbands only drank milkshakes.. The pregnant wives each ate salad, a main dish and pancake with a scoop of ice cream. My gosh, pregnant ladies can really eat a lot huh.. I think it's 'Bring your pregnant wife to dinner' night.. hahahhah...

After 10minutes later, our drinks came.. This is a preview of what we drank...

I on the other hand trying to stick to a budget, i drank a glass of ice water... ;p hhehehehe... While still waiting for our food, I start camwhoring other people instead of me... huhuhu...

FLAME ON!!!

Alfi and Joe had this dish. They say nice and worth it coz got both chips and rice.

Wan's dish. Salmon... What a waste of good salmon. The salmon was tasteless. Raw salmon has that sweet taste in it. This salmon tasted like it was taken out from the freezer and directly pan fried while still frozen. You can imagine how it tastes like.

This is my dish. The menu said tango mango.. Where the heck is the mango taste in the sauce??? And the snapper was tasteless.. No wonder they prepared salt and pepper on the table. After sprinkling some salt and pepper on my snapper only then it tasted ok but still not satisfactory.

Done trying to fill our stomachs with the unsatisfactorily food, we all still felt hungry. We paid and left in search of more food. We ended up eating at a mamak stall.. Finally we have achieved satisfaction..

~+Sky Bar+~

I went to KL on Thursday (02/08/07) for a road trip with some friends. Actually it was more of a trip to meet up with a friend and client. My bf had to meet up with one of his client. On the same day, a friend of mine Ken Jim, just drop by Malaysia for a day cause he was on a flight to Malaysia from Abu Dhabi so I thought to myself,"what the heck, lets make a one day trip to KL". He had to go back to Abu Dhabi on the next flight. By the way, he's an air steward. Me and my bf 'tumpang' Ken Juan since he is going to KL to see his bro too.

After meeting up with the client, we went to meet my friend. Had a few drinks, chit chat and then he brought us to his hotel. He stayed at the Traders Hotel. I tell you, it's the best hotel I've ever been to. The room was way nice. Very elegant looking. Now that's what I call a 5 star hotel. Then he took us to see the hotel bar. The bar was called Sky Bar situated on the 33rd floor (same floor as the pool). Inside the elevator I was thinking to myself, sure there's nothing special bout this bar. Just a typical normal hotel bar.

As we reached the 33rd floor, the elevator doors open, I could start to hear RnB music coming from the bar. The songs played by the DJ was not bad at all. As i walk into the bar, i was shocked, amazed and blown away with what i saw. The bar was open-air!! Gosh seriously open-air. And the view from the bar was woooooww i tell you. The whole environment of the bar was so so so nice and relaxing. The hotel pool was in the middle of the bar. I give this bar 4 thumbs up...

We sat at the pool side while waiting for a place to sit. That night was kinda full. What do you expect, it's a Thursday night. Ken Jim said that the place is usually really packed on Friday and Saturday nights. I just wonder how can people walk around in the crowd and not fall into the pool.

Side tables facing the city view. It is more like a Japanese sitting style with a small table in the center. The cushions are all water proof so if anyone staying in the hotel felt like taking a swim and continue with a drink can do so. Cool right :)

And this is Me feeling very under dressed to be there in the bar... Hahahaah.. At the same time imagining wouldn't it be cool to have a pool party there.

Always wanted to know how Apple Martini tasted like. Not bad actually. But the Lychee Martini was nicer. >_<
